Critics Awards: Detroit Film Critics Society Nominations

More critics awards news. Also, as you can tell, the Critics Choice nominations were not announced yesterday. The calendar on Awards Daily was not updated so the date was wrong. I just saw on Twitter that the nominations will be announced at 12 P.M. Eastern, so look for an update around that time.

To hold us over until that time, the Detroit Film Critics Society announced their nominations. I’m from the Metro Detroit area so these are probably more interesting to me than anybody else. But I also appreciate that they seem to vote for what they actually like instead of just trying to be an Oscar predictor. The DFCS really loved The Impossible and gave Sarah Polley’s independent film Take This Waltz some major nominations. Silver Linings Playbook did the best here though. 7 nominations total.
